Finding Joy in Motherhood

I was preparing for a class at a women's conference about Finding Joy in Motherhood. I decided to make a video and four of my girls, daughters Stephanie and Caroline, and daughters-in-law, Michelle and Anna helped me out. I asked them four questions and this video is a sampling of the answers.

Once again I was struck with the truth that it is in the small and simple moments that we bond with our children and create memories. The challenges to Joy come when we fight against who we are and try to be like others and the sweetest moments of joy come when we embrace the good including the unique and one-of-a-kind talents that help us be the best mom their kids ever had. And finally, Joy in motherhood is found in the everyday. In those sacred moments of NOW.

The questions I asked are below:

What is your favorite memory of your mother?

What is your favorite memory with your children?

Where do you find Joy in Motherhood?

What is your greatest obstacle in finding joy in motherhood?

For the full answers and a great discussion on the ups and downs and challenges of motherhood, you can listen to the episode, "Where is the Joy in Mothering?"
